The Armenian e-visa, also known as the electronic visais an essential document for anyone wishing to visit Armenia. It offers considerable advantages over the traditional visa, particularly in terms of the speed and ease with which it can be obtained. We'll give you all the information you need about the validity of this e-visa and what you need to know to prepare for your trip.

What is the Armenian e-visa?

The Armenian e-visa is a temporary residence permit issued by the Armenian authorities to people wishing to visit the country for tourism, business or family purposes. This electronic visa has been introduced to simplify and speed up the process of obtaining a visa, avoiding queues and tedious administrative procedures at consulates and embassies.

To benefit from this scheme, simply fill in an online form, providing personal details and information about your trip (dates, reasons, accommodation, etc.). Once the application has been approved, the e-visa will be sent to you by email, and you will need to print it out and present it with your passport when you arrive in Armenia.

How long is the Armenian e-visa valid for?

The Armenian e-visa is valid for a period of 90 or 180 daysfrom the date of issue. This means that you must enter Armenia within 90 days or 180 days of the visa being issued, otherwise it will lapse.

Maximum length of stay

The Armenian e-visa allows a tourist or business stay of 21 days or 120 days maximumdepending on the option chosen at the time of application. It is important to note, however, that the duration of the stay cannot be extended beyond this period and that a traditional visa will be required for longer stays and for certain types of activity (study, work experience, voluntary work, etc.).

What are the different types of Armenian e-visa?

There are two main types of Armenian e-visas:

  1. E-visa tourism : This type of visa is intended for people wishing to visit Armenia for tourist purposes, such as exploring the country, taking a holiday, visiting historical sites, etc. It allows a maximum stay of 21 or 120 consecutive days.
  2. Business e-visa : This visa is intended for people travelling to Armenia for professional reasons, such as meetings, conferences, seminars, etc. In this case, the duration of the stay must not exceed 21 or 120 consecutive days.

How much does an Armenian e-visa cost?

The cost of an Armenian e-visa depends on the type of visa and its duration:

  • E-visa (21 days) : The rate is generally 7 €excluding processing costs.
  • E-visa (120 days) : The rate is generally 35 €excluding processing costs.

However, these rates may be subject to variations, depending on the visa application platforms or currency fluctuations. In addition, certain nationalities may benefit from reduced rates or exemption from visa fees, depending on bilateral agreements between Armenia and the country concerned.

What documents should you expect when entering the country with an Armenian e-visa?

To enter Armenia with an e-visa, you must present :

  • A valid passport : This must have an expiry date of at least 3 months after the end of your planned stay in Armenia. Blank pages are also required for entry and exit stamps.
  • Printed e-visa : Make sure you print it in A4 format and in colour, so that all the information is clearly legible and recognisable by the authorities.
  • Proof of accommodation : You will also need to show proof of accommodation during your stay in Armenia (hotel reservation, invitation from a private individual, etc.).
