What is an e-Visa for Armenia?

An e-Visa for Armenia is a official document issued by the Armenian government, which authorises foreign nationals to travel to the country for short, temporary stays. It can be used for tourist, business or family visitsand to take part in conferences and cultural and sporting events.

The e-Visa is available to citizens of many countries, but some nationalities still need to obtain a traditional visa from the embassy. The online application process is simple and convenient, and applicants usually receive a reply within 5 days of submitting their application.

List of countries eligible for Armenian e-Visa

Citizens of countries on the official list from the Armenian government are eligible to apply for an e-Visa. This list includes Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belize, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Fiji, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Kiribati, Kuwait, Marshall Islands, Laos, Lebanon, North Korea, Solomon Islands, Northern Macedonia, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nicaragua, Oman, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Dominican Republic, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, El Salvador, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Suriname, Thailand, East Timor, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Venezuela.

Who needs an e-Visa for Armenia?

As mentioned above, citizens of eligible countries must obtain an e-Visa before entering Armenia. However, there are a few exceptions, notably for holders of a valid visa or residence permit issued by one of the Schengen countries, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or the United Arab Emirates. These people can enter Armenia without a visa for a stay of up to 180 days..

European and American citizens

Visa-exempt travellers to Armenia include citizens of many European countries, including France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK. US citizens are also exempt.

Citizens of other eligible countries

In addition to the countries mentioned above, nationals of other countries on the official list drawn up by the Armenian government must submit an e-Visa application online before they can travel to Armenia.

How do I obtain an e-Visa for Armenia?

The e-Visa application process is quick and easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Go to Official website of the Armenian government dedicated to e-Visa or site of a renowned agency
  2. Complete the application form, giving your personal details, contact details, passport details and the dates and purpose of your stay.
  3. Pay the application fee online using a bank card
  4. Receive confirmation by e-mail and wait for a reply

Once the application has been approved, the applicant will receive a PDF document containing the e-Visa, which must be printed and presented to the border authorities on arrival in Armenia.

Documents required to apply for an e-Visa

When applying for an e-Visa, travellers must provide the following documents:

  • A valid passport with an expiry date at least 3 months after the end of the planned stay in Armenia
  • A recent digital photo that meets international standards for passport photos
  • Arrival and departure flight details (if applicable)
  • Details of accommodation in Armenia (e.g. hotel name and address)
